Herbert Grönemeyer - Glück (Happiness)

One of my favorite songs. | das ist eines meiner Lieblingslieder.

Refrain 1
Was immer du denkst, wohin ich führe,
Whatever you think where I lead you to
wohin es führt, vielleicht nur hinters Licht.
where it leads to, maybe it's just to trick you
Du bist ein Geschenk, seit ich dich kenne,
You are a present, since the moment I know you
seit ich dich kenne, trage ich Glück im Blick.
Since the moment I know you I wear happyness in my sight

Ich kläre den Nebel, änder so schnell ich kann
I clear the fog, change it as soon as I can
und was sich nicht ändert, an dem bin ich noch dran.
and I'm keeping on for things that don't change
Kleb an den Sternen, bis einer dann fällt,
Hang on the stars until one of them falls
der mir die Brust aufreiflt.
and rips my chest

Ich zöger nicht lang, ich setzte die Segel,
I don't hesitate, hoist the sails
pack den Mond für dich ein, zerschneide die Kabel,
wrap the moon for you, cut the cords
will allein mit dir sein.
like to be alone with you
Und wenn du nichts für mich tust, dann tust du es gut.
and if you do nothing for me, then you do well

Refrain 1

Du hast mich verwickelt in ein seidenes Netz,
you strung me along, into a silken mesh
das Leben ist gerissen, aber nicht jetzt,
life has broken, but not for now
es kriegt endlich Flügel, fliegt auf und davon,
finally life gets wings, flys up and away
das sind deine Augen - so blau und so fromm.
it's your eyes, so blue and devotional

Und du lachst und du strahlst,
and you smile and your eyes are shining
setzt den Schalk ins Genick,
you put the wag back on one's neck [make people laugh]
schenkst mir Freudentränen und nimmst keine zurück
you give me tears of joy and don't take them back
und du tust mir nichts und das tust du gut.
and you don't hurt me and that is what you do well

Refrain 1

Und wird dein Kopf dir irgendwann zu eng und trübe
And once your head gets too tight and cloudy
Und du weiflt, dass der Regen sich verdrängt,
and you know the rain will go away
färbe ich sie ein, deine schrägen Schübe,
I colour them up, your strange moods
du bist alles in allem, das bist du nicht.
because you are all of everything, but you're not like that

*was immer du denkst*

And once your head gets too tight and cloudy
Versuche ich, dass der Regen sich verdrängt!
I try to make the rain go away
Du bist das Geschenk, aller Geschenke,
you are the present of all presents
seit ich dich kenne, trage ich Glück im Blick
Since the moment I know you I wear happiness in my sight
Oh, du bist das Geschenk aller Geschenke,
oh, you are the present of all presents
seit ich dich kenne, kenne, trage ich Glück im Blick.
Since the moment I know you I wear happiness in my sight

happy holidays around me: Venice'08 & Paris'09

First of all, wishing my gentle Readers: A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009. May this year brings success and a blessing from Above to us all.

today's blog is going to be lengthy, so sit up tight, no seat belt requires but a cup of coffee, perhaps :)) enjoy.

it has been so long ago since my last entry here. Life was a hustle-bustle soon after my school break on December 19, 2008, but thatsokay :)
) Cold winter breeze is still upon us here in Europe and imokay with that. After all, i love cold weather tickle on my skin and the snow!

CHRISTMAS EVE: DECEMBER 24th, 2008
My first holiday break, we had a quiet family Christmas celebration with my in-laws in a small town called Asperg. We stayed overnight and drove back to Heilbronn the next morning gearing up for our first winter holiday getaway to Venice.

VENICE, ITALY: DECEMBER 27th-29th, 2008
TUI fly airline took us to Venice on December 27th. Soon as we arrived at Venice airport, we opt for "public water taxi" that cost us 24 Euros to transport us to our hotel. This water taxi took 1.5 hours boat ride after stopping passengers from one destination to another and we were in no rush. Private taxi boat will cost us 120 Euros in 1/2 hrs ride! Our water taxi stopped us at St. Marcos where we stayed for the next 2 nights at Hotel Bauer. Well located!

We checked-in to our hotel in the early afternoon and was given an upgraded room, hurray!! Seconds after chucking our luggage down, we used all the leftover day light time to walk around Venice. The weather was sunny bright. It got colder in the late afternoon as the sun started to go down into the horizon. 2 nights was more than enough to see the whole separated "town" that was linked by many bridges.

We thought going to Venice in the winter would avoid us with packed of tourists but we were wrong! I guess everybody wanted to go somewhere during this most festive time of the year to create memories we all never want to forget.

Throughout our stay in Venice, we had a wonderful time cruising on foot and even the weather was a blessing from Above. There was no drop of rain because 2 weeks earlier, there was a very bad flood in Venice. Halleluyah! God has answered my prayers.

ASPERG, GERMANY: DEC. 29th-JAN.2nd, 2009
On December 29th, we had to leave St Marcos island (Venice) with no choice but to take private boat taxi and that costs us 110 Euros! It was a risk to take the second earliest 6:30am public water taxi as we had our plane to catch at 8:15am, too risky! We arrived in Asperg on the same day our girlfriend Novi, who lived in England came to visit us and to celebrate the New Year together with us for the first time in Europe. We all stayed at Hotel Adler in Asperg.

Novi stayed with us until the 2nd of January and it was unfortunate that we could not show Novi much around. Both, my husband and Novi fell sick because of the cold weather. My body seemed to handle the situation quite well although i have aching muscles here and there. Thanks to Novi when she was up on her feet, she gave me a superb 'kaut' using coin (that's Malay word), i would say muscle 'scrub' to remove bad wind in the body! do you understand what i mean ? :))

One morning when we were already on the road driving towards Black Forest with Novi, suddenly, the breaking news on the radio mentioned of snow rain at Black Forest region. There were already road accidents due to slippery road. Better be safe than sorry, we had to make a quick U-turn after driving almost 45 minutes. We ended up browsing Stuttgart city where all the shops were closed! I hope Novi will visit us again end of this year, another 357 more days to go...

RINGING IN YEAR 2009 AT HOTEL ADLER, ASPERG
on December 31st, we had a wonderful New Year Party at Hotel Adler in Asperg.

Our table of 13 persons was very international. There were a French family of 5 who live in Moscow, a Columbian family of 3 who live in Spain, Novi an Indonesian-Canadian who lives in England, me Malaysian with my Deutsch habibi and my in-laws. We had wonderful food of 5-course, lecker... and sharing stories with everyone ... of course, dozens of family photographs to remember this very day.

PARIS: JANUARY 3
rd-6th, 2009
Then it was Paris, Paris, Paris, with all her famous landmarks decked out for the holidays! We took the ICE speed train leaving early morning and arrived in Paris in the good afternoon weather. Wonderful timing! It was a smooth 4 hours train ride. We also had a blessing weather in Paris, sunny but cold, no rain at all, no snow either, not now, not yet... just waiting...

We walked a lot in Paris until my feet were so sore, but thatsokay :)) We didn't celebrate Paris in high style like boat cruise on the Seine River - it was crazy cold, instead we spent our good time on good food. We had good food indeed and i had fresh oysters non-stop in Paris. They were so fresh and i could not resist not to eat them when i can. I ate snails too, but sea snail, nyummm...

On our last stay in Paris, it snowed all day! thanked God we had done the Eiffel Tower the day before and all the MUST SEE areas. Later, i learned that the Eiffel Tower being one of Paris' main tourist attractions was closed because of slippery conditions.

AND THANK GOD my husband thought wisely to take the train as it was more relax to sit on the train and the timing was about the same if we took the plane. He was indeed correct and it was a perfect trip to go to Paris by train from Germany. Why? should we have taken the flight, we might not make it home as scheduled - there were dozens of flights being cancelled at Paris airport due to bad weather that contributed to the cancellations on that day.
On our last day in Paris, my body could not tolerate any longer with the cold weather and i fell sick eventually. i am trying to recover from my bad cough but i love hearing my rocker voice though :)))
that's about it the sum up of our recent holiday getaway collection happenings in my 3-week class  break and it is about to come to an end... no more glorious days .... and now i am not looking forward to going back to class next week!!

our next vocal holiday: God willing, Istanbul, Turkey :)))

2nd time snow in heilbronn!

i was sitting on the bus returning home from my class that i saw snowed had covered the vineyard hills and its surrounding.

soon as i reached home, chucked my school bag and took my camera and walked towards the wine yard hills and photographed. it was a brief 15 minutes afternoon walk to get there. it was not too cold either, at 1 degree celsius!

here are pictures from the whole-day-snowfall came down on us on tuesday, dec.11. these pictures was taken yesterday. enjoy!

because live near water, a small lake though... the snow did not stick on the ground, unless it was a heavy snow ....

first snow flurries in Heilbronn

i was supposed to put up this blog last weekend but the photos didn't come out well, so here i am with few of my ready snow-story to tell ...
view from our bedroom window of a train track
and street covered with light snow

yes! it finally snow flurries on Friday night! the first thing i did after getting up at quarter to 7 o'clock on Saturday morning was to pull up our bedroom blinds and saw some snows left on the ground. so happy saya... and what happened next...

i grabbed my camera ... this is one of my favorite catch of a still lake, pretty forestry feeling

children playground powered in snow
before heading home, i past this bridge and lucky to look back - i saw this view!
and last but not finish yet... i signed my trademark name on this untouched first snowfall...
more photos here at Picasa, i would view them in slideshow! Enjoy!NinaOA©

NinaOA's first models: Dulce & John

more photos there >> NinaOA PicasaWebAlbum
just posted Dulce's photographs earlier on and i just received John's approval to share his photogenic pose here for me.
i got John pretending to read a book near a natural light to get some soft light shining on his face.
and here, he sat by the window's sill with nearly perfect autumn natural sunlight...
oh... before we end our one-hour photos session, i got Dulce and John to pose like James Bond 007! playing safe, hands gun sign do worked well here with John hardly pulled Dulce's necktie... as you can see, they posed so naturally and so relax. i am a happy photographer to see this satisfied results. Thank you so much guys!
we made some impromptu photography session last week after class and i was already excited to blog about this. Unfortunately time was not so much on my side with school homework must finished first, then the weekend came to spend quality time with my dear husband and the house chores i can't bewitched them with my nose to get them sorted out in a second!!! hence, this dragging delay until today... thank you for patiently waiting for my update ...
you know i have never posted individual portrait of a PERSON for many good reasons. Having my classmates (yes, my international classmates) as my models, i am pleased Dulce allowed me to publish my work online. i have yet to wait for my male model confirmation for an A-OK but i didn't see him in class today....
having no model knowledge photography background, my models, Dulce and John made it so much easier for me to photograph them. we worked spontaneously. no serious pose. just dress to kill. smile here and there a little bit and the afternoon natural lights coming in from the windows in this dim room made these photos, magical ;))
Thank you Dulce and John for allowing me to publish your photos here. By the way dear Blogger - Dulce is used to photograph in front of professional photographers, speaking of a model herself. that's why we don't have to tell each other how to pose. She is a happy-go-lucky beautiful lady, dress to kill even to class :)))
