dining at Augustenstüble, Stuttgart

hi Peepers!
i'm blogging again... there were a lot of things had happened in the past 4 months, to name some: my brother's shocking brain tumor, my tooth pain that i ended up going through apicoectomy operation, then the moving places from Heilbronn to Asperg - oh it was so stressful. last month i was in malaysia for the whole month of august, almost! it was heavenly fantastic and i wished for another 2 more weeks to be with my dear family. time flies like an arrow and fruit flies like a banana...

today i wanna blog about our dining place we went to last night. a restaurant name Augustenstüble and it is located in Stuttgart. we drove there and parking was a nightmare, it was like a dog chasing its tail and we had to park our car illegally. thanked God, we did not get parking ticket at the end of our dinner. the next time we come back here, we will take a train. it was our first time to dine in this restaurant, introduced by my brother-in-law. thumbs up!

Augustenstüble restaurant serves a French style cuisine. the restaurant atmosphere was relaxed, easy and rustic. as for the food size...? it was quite a huge portion and luckily i did not order my starter. hubby did, he had fish and prawn on risotto and i had some scoops from his plate. unfortunately, i did not take any pictures of it.

i had lamb fillet, it was quite huge for the size of my teeny-meeny stomach :-) the meat was so tender, tasty and it was so easy to chew it down into your hungry belly. i left 1/5 of it on the plate, i just could not finish it all :(

my lamb fillet came with mashed potatoes. oh gosh, the mashed potatoes was creamy and nyum-nyum, but i ate only 1/4 of it :-( like i had said, it was a huge portion and hubby even try to help to eat it for me. he likes it too ;-)

hubby had Boeuf (Beef) Bourguignon served in a big pot and a bowl plate, yes! a POT (not in the picture!) and it came with a basket of sliced french bread. he only had to serve himself and take how much he can eat with a ready ladle. i assumed there were like 8-10 big chunks of meat in there. Boeuf Bourguignon is a typical tradition french cuisine. it is a stew prepared with beef in red wine, beef broth, garlic, onions, carrots, etc... hubby can cook this cuisine at home but it takes a lot of time and eating it here in this restaurant, save you all the troubles: your time and cleaning up!
